Incubating Pheasant Eggs

Quote:
I don't know that answer, but I have herd that pheasants that you want to go broody should sit on a slightly damp nest. Not wet, but damp. I've not left the eggs in the pen long enough to see if they'd go broody, but my Golden likes to nest not to far from the waterer.......?

Our pheasant just laid it's first egg...It was within 5 feet of the waterer. We pulled the egg to put it in the incubator but I'd love to see them hatch their own....do you know how to tell if the bird goes broody? Ours wasn't on the egg which is why we pulled it. The egg was in the middle of the floor on the dirt.

My commons(2) are laying, and I was wondering if they would go broody. One has been laying near the waterer, and I left it there to see if it would lay again, yesterday another was next to it so I left them both. Today both eggs were scattered like someone had picked them up and moved then. I guess she won't be broody.
