Well, just checked on them and the Orp I will probably loose. It zipped and was doing good but there is blood all on the membrane that is not broken. Baby is still breathing and I have no idea what to do so I am doing nothing. No other pips yet.

June and Ike's baby is white and it has a huge hole in the egg but the membrane is wrapped around the baby with just it's beak and half of its head through. The membrane is pulled away from the shell so I may intervene in a little bit.

I am getting sadder by the minute.

Don't loose heart Lady Hawk!! Hang in there. You know this is the hardest part of the whole proposition. You've been here before. Just remember that. You're an old pro at this.

Sometimes they make it, and sometimes they don't. It's sad, but it's a fact of life.

Do what you can without jeopardizing the others. I know it's so hard to decide when it's time to intervene and when it's time to just sit on your hands and keep them out of the incubator. Everything we've heard and learned and experienced for ourselves tells us to sit still and wait. But the maternal instincts in us drives us to do SOMETHING! ANYTHING! Even if it might be the wrong thing.

Trust your small inner voice. You know the one. It's that same voice that told you the right thing to do for Cheyenne's welfare and brought you clear across the country to give her a better life. Yeah, that one! It will tell you when it's time to keep your hands tucked under you and when it's time to pull a chick in trouble out of the incubator and help it the rest of the way into this big old world!

We're all with you Cetawin. Maybe not in body, but surely in spirit. And with that, I'm heading to bed. I can't keep my eyes open a minute longer. But I shall say my small prayers on the way to my pillow. May all of your eggs may hatch safely. May there also be a miracle little man, just waiting to peep his first hello to you in there!

Best of luck dear friend!

COME ON CHICKIES!!!!

Take heart-if they are still breathing, there is hope! I would intervene with June's baby, since you can see what's going on- if you can free it a bit more from the membrane, it might loosen it enough to help it out- the other, how much blood? Get the superglue ready or something.
Sheesh- I am talking like I know anything about this- !!!

Well I just delivered June's baby...I was afraid it was going to shrink wrap in there, glad I got baby out...there is still a piece of membrane dried on the baby's wing but I did not want to mess with baby anymore. it looks like a Delaware with faint grey smut on it's back

Little orp baby is out and the shell was full of blood, baby is covered in blood and there is an odd bump on the bottom of baby...it managed to hatch all by itself and that may have been too much for it...they are both drying in the bator and the little orp is hanging in there...

it looks blue...no other visible pips...the Dellie cross is peeping up a storm...the orp is sleeping. So, I am going to catnap now too.

Be back later with more news...good I hope.
