For the first few days i highly suggest an old towel or anything that provides grip. The first time i hatched quail i had them on newspaper. When i got up the next morning after hatch, 4 of the chicks had gotten splay legs and i spent the entire day doing physiotherapy and building leg shackles to fix them! Bracing those teeny-tiny legs is extremely difficult, so keep the chicks off slippery surfaces until they've built some strength and grown some. Towels are perfect for thisI have a question that falls right in line with the incubationing, what is best for bedding for quail chicks?
