Incubating quail eggs for the first time : )

Is it supposed to take this long?? The first one pipped around 11 am and it hasn't done anything more. Its moving around though.... all the eggs are moving and 5 have pipped.

I have 2 so far out! I woke up and thought I heard peeping...went to check it out and 2 are running around! They're fast too, and redecorating everything. Lol.

Ignore the cookie cutter...I used it to raise one of the thermometers up. : P

3 are out and dry so I stuck them in the brooder. The humidity in the incubator was almost 70 and didn't go down so the others should be good. The fuzzy ones are already eating and drinking, yay!!

I have 5 healthy babies running around the brooder. They look great... but one that hatched overnight is pretty lethargic in the incubator. It almost looks like its early, its eyes won't even open. The other two eggs are just starting to crack. I wonder why some hatched early and healthy, and the late ones are slow???

I now have 6 healthy a&m babies. Yay! I can't get over how active they are. The last two eggs never pipped so I tried the float test and they didn't move at all in the water. I decided to open them BC I'm gross like that, lol, and they were dead but fully formed. They both had deformed beaks and one had no eyes. The other only had one. Any clues as to why this happened???

Can you tell me the sellers name on ebay? I have been following this thread because I am new to this too. I was pretty much set on ordering eggs from James Marie in Louisiana since Stromberg's is way up north and the eggs would be super cold traveling from Minnesota to Arizona. But I haven't heard anything back from James and I emailed them last Thursday morning. Sounds like you are having a good hatch rate so far...Congratulations!
