Incubating Question...

I can't tell you for sure - but I can replay my experiences:

29 eggs shipped, post office delayed delivery 2 times and sent them out on the truck TWICE = rough handling before I picked them up -
power went out - 3 hours - before I know it, and I took it to my mom's - 15 minute drive. . .
then on day 16 - my mom accidently unplugged them for 12-13 hours - temps were in the 70s -
I plugged them back in - candled on day 18 - 25 were viable - 23 hatched, 22 made it!

That was in the Brinsea Octo 20

Then I had 40 that I had collected of mixed farm yard stock over 10 days - put them in the Little Giant -
TEMPS have been ALL over the place - as high as 110, as low as 85 - crazy - I hate that bator. . .
I candled on day 18 before lockdown - 30 looked viable, and 20 have obvious movement or more. . .
5 have hatched as of this morning on day 21. . .

They can be hardy!

I think the issue with them is in the manufacturing. Some are incredible and some are total crap and a lot in between. I believe they do not have strict standards in manufacturing.

I'm going to try to put a lamp on the bator itself. A brooding lamp. Lol. The water was what screwed this whole ordeal up!!

Wait!!! I was measuring the temp on top of the eggs first... Now it's sitting on the bottom of the eggs!! I'm a complete idiot..

I think you're right because the ones before this I moved hatched chicks into until I could get a brooder set up - and the darn thing had an electric malfunction and
sparks went everywhere within 15 minutes of coming out of the box.
