I am going to order 5 Buff Ameraucana hatching eggs from eBay. I have been doing sooo much research trying to get the best hatch rate I can. How well do you think these eggs will hatch? Do you think any will hatch? I am aware of the bad hatch rate for shipped eggs. Any advice is warmly welcomed!

It can go either way and often depends on factors out of your control. My first suggestion would be to try to get more than 5 eggs. Secondly, try to purchase eggs fairly close to where you are. Let them settle for about 24 hours with the pointy end down when they arrive.

I've had great hatches from shipped eggs and I've had total busts - although, the same thing has happened when I've incubated local eggs, too. Best of luck!

Yeah, I would have gotten more eggs, but they were the only ones available. They at kind of far, which has my hopes down, but I'm gonna try!!!

Just keep in mind how risky it can be and hope for the best. It may also be a good idea to find some local eggs to hatch with them in case only one hatches. I've had that happen and then was scrambling to find another chick or two to raise with it.

Yeah, I do know how risky it can be. I honestly don't expect any to hatch. This purely an experiment with a breed I am interested in
