Incubating Shipped Eggs

Quote:
They can lay on their side as nature intended in the nest and do just fine. I know someone right now that does all of his hatches that way and had several 100% hatch rates.

This is the first time I have set my bator up with covering the floor and placing 3 full egg cartons in to hatch at once. I did run into a humidity problem.... I piped in warm water through the hole for the turner cord into the plastic liner. NEXT time.. I am going to place a sponge in that area... soo I can just pipe the water right into the sponge instead... It will raise the humidity alot faster. All in all... I am very pleased with this hatch.

Hmm getting eggs by shipping. That's an idea I never heard of actually..
Did yours arrive safe and all that?

Yes they did.. but IT IS a gamble when hatching shipped eggs... The seller can jump through all kinds of hoops to try to may sure they have packed the eggs as best they can... BUT they can't control the post office.... So once the shipment leaves home... it is up to the PO to get them too you safely.

I am soo pleased to say this morning.... I have one more pipped egg to hatch to complete a 100% hatch on shipped eggs. Praise the Lord!!

FarmGuy... go to Index... <click> then scroll down the page to look for auctions: You will find shipping eggs available there from the members. I have successfully purchased chicks and eggs from different members on this board.

The best advice I can give you issss.... DO your homework first.

Good luck,
