My halloween hatch was terrible! 2/16! Most of them were fully grown. One was internally pipped but did not hatch
But think about it, you have five other babies! That is exciting!
Just found this thread from last year, I made a separate one in the new year. We had a predator disaster, cats! Being new and oblivious to chicken keeping I thought allowing the chicks to have some ‘free range time’ in the garden would be clever, but being inexperienced I only focused on making sure no chicks could escape, but didn’t think about predators getting in. Went inside for 10 minutes and 4 of my 5 silkies had been taken
I guess it was a learning curve for me but such a shame.
