Incubating using body heat. It’s working!!!

here is a picture of the wearable incubator. Yes, the quail egg is pretty scratched up ;( I used duct tape, wool, string, and a cardboard paper towel roll. Also I surrounded the whole thing with an emergency heat blanket (including the insides).

Following! I saw that video too. I'd love to see a pic of your "contraption" too. How often do you turn the egg? Did you temp check the heat in there?

I turn the egg more than 2 times a hour just because it’s on me and I’m scared the other half would get cold. I do a touch test for the temperature every once in a while

I had a tiny D’Uccle chick who had gotten in trouble in the brooder and was very chilled and lethargic. I put him in my bra to warm him up. Worked like a charm!

I tried to incubate a fallen Eurasian dove egg in my bra erlier this summer until I could get it in my incubator(I was visiting my dad in ND), but I unwittingly fried the embryo overnight while I was sleeping under a heavy quilt.☹

Hi! I got pretty bored these few days and decided to attempt to incubate a egg using body heat. I saw this man on YouTube make a wearable incubator and hatch a duck egg!! Here is the link:

It was very hard to believe at first. After I saw the video, I made a similar wearable incubator and decided to try it with a quail egg. Today is day 3 of incubation and I think I see tiny veins. It’s really hard to see but I definitely saw something! I’m worried about sweating on the egg. (I did go on a hike today and sweat). I just wanted to post this thread for anyone wanting to try this or is curious about this topic!! Anything is welcome!

Curious how you wear the egg when you sleep haha, but good luck with that!

Today is almost day 4 and I caught the quails heart beating. Last night, The egg got a little cold but it looks like it’s alive!

Awesome video! I just have to warn you though, be prepared it might not make it. I just finished trying an experiment, and the results were pretty heartbreaking. I really hope it works for you though.
