I have 38 eggs in the incubator, due on New Years Day... So any input on sexing when they hatch?
Hey @rj122 the most accurate method for sexing chicks of any breed is vent sexing. But some breeds by color, wing feathering, and development of the chicks. See if these help and let me know.

Thank you! I was actually looking into it. I'm tired of all those babies dying right when they are supposed to hatch. It always happens in the middle of the night.
well just ask if you want help deciding anything... @jlashaw there are conversations and stuff on bators in this thread.... here is a link to where I have been throwing some of the good stuff......

UPDATE:

I have pulled extremely helpful NOTES, LINKS &

Informational Post Links from this entire thread

for EVERYONE'S convenience and will continue to put them HERE:

Third one hatched and now the waiting again... #4. I am keeping my hands AWAY from this one, lol

I'm concerned with number 3 and spraddle leg. He was on the grided incubator floor and then onto paper so I'm not sure why his legs are so far apart. Can they come out of the egg with spraddle leg?

No signs of any development.
I'll leave them in til day 10 Monday and if no change (which I don't expect) I'll toss.

My flock eggs are slightly better but I was hoping for better fertility. I have 2 EE's growing and 1 EE quitter. The other 3 look infertile.

The breeder eggs that had the longest trip and saddle air cells are developing the best of all. I am only day 4 now but was able to see some good veining. Here's one of the bantam Cochin eggs:

I'd answer that question, but I'm waiting for Sally to come back before posting anything. I'll get back to you on that when she does...
