Tell me about it!

The biggest thing I have shot was a 155 MM Howitzer!

To almost 30 km!

I was in an artillery group headquarters. A couple of our battalions were 155 units. One was an M50 Honest John battalion. It is considered obsolete now but it was a 5,800 lb., 27' long rocket with a range of 12 miles and capable of carrying an atomic warhead.

Tortoises are so much easier.

And they usually won't take your finger off.

Mine was M-209 and that was slmost 30 years ago! How time flies. .....

Yea I was just saying it's farming... You can't keep like a million cockerels and people are t going to buy them for pets ;-/ it's just what it is and people used to understand that but we are separated so far now from our food I think some people think it grows on labs or something... Oh well...

My kids know where it comes from. My son even asks which one we are eating sometimes.

I realy hope that in that cross the ruster was the silky and not the other way round! :lau

No, but their good size hens, TSC 'silkies' not show quality. I planned on the other way around but the silkie roo drove me insane crowing all day and even at night non-stop! Got all them going. Off with his head! Mostly quiet now and no night crowing :)

I agree with that approach, people should know, and if they can grow themselves and process, their own food! This is the only way that they will appreciate it! I buy and slaughter a lamb at least once a year.
And my son always come to see, help (and eat! ) the all process.

We probably shared much the same weaponry over the years.
My service was over 40 years ago.
I usually got to carry the M-60 machine gun when, as a quick response reactionary force, we had to gear up and be in position at the top of the hill to defend a weapons bunker 15 minutes after the alert.. There was a 5 minute force housed at the site. We were about a mile down hill. If the alert remained, there was also a larger contingent that had to be in position 30 minutes later.

You could be in bed sound asleep or at the theater and had to be fully armed with flak jacket, helmet and all surrounding the site in 15 minutes.
So if you went to the show, the mess hall, library or wherever, you had to sign out and tell them where you would be.

@Fire Ant Farm Hey guys, there is one of these on clearance on Walmart.com what is 35' 5/8". For 17.97.

Thanks for that. However, even though it is the closest store to my house, I refuse to shop there. They could be $1 and I wouldn't buy them.
It's a personal thing, a combination of things. I wouldn't shop there because of business practices before I knew who Stan Kroenke was but now I'm convinced.

I think that it's great that you teach your kids that. My kids would not be able to handle that process. They have a way different personality that it would be torture for them to watch. They know with knowledge not with sight...

The truth is none of them will be farmers. They will lead a different walk in life than what I do.. I'm okay with that.
