Good morning all!! I had 18 of 24 eggs hatch. I checked 2 of the remaining eggs and there is movement. We are on day 22 right now. So there is hope for more.

I cleaned out shells and took out 3 babies that I sold, but my pens are crowded so these guys don't get out of the 'bator until tonight. I had a heat lamp on the chicks I hatched for gotro17. I brought them over to her house this morning. I was going to put the new babies under that lamp, but it died - not the bulb, the contraption, so the heat pads that I'm using to make a Mama brooder with, are sitting at the post office.

I had Fly Tie chicks (at least 6) hatch, 4 EE eggs from my teenager chicks, 1 silkie and the rest were from beige/brown eggs. I'm guessing the EE roo with BO, Dominque, BA, or NHR hens. There were 3 yellow babies, 3 brown babies and the rest are black.

Happy hatching everyone!!
so you got the heat pads and the chicks are warm I am assuming? not sure I got that right? lol
Congrats on the babies! what color are the fly tie chicks?

@Sally Sunshine I am glad you are feeling better, and are back on the thread. The puppies all ton of them are too cute.
You can have one of my baby goats who jumped up on my half finished run and ripped my hardware cloth I spent hours using poultry staples to nail up. Stupid kid.

@kwhites634 I am glad you finished, but next time if you can't get xip ties back through get some medium wire and bend it through like a fish hook.

@audy5000g . How is the hatch coming along?

Thanks dax, I need two goats, got two? I want a milker though so I take mom and baby? lol
So about this goat security area, how in the bleep does one make that happen, Husband just happened to see a goat stomping a car to death on tv and told me no. But I do whut I wunt so I need to be sure of fencing or electric fencing

Just popping in quick - I know Chaos gave an update for me too. We've had the worst luck, medically for awhile now!

I was actually in the hospital not this past weekend but the one previously and was supposed to follow up with a cardiologist yesterday but THEN my son turned 7 Sunday & broke his arm Monday! I rushed him to our little rural hospital but they don't do pediatrics and the xray showed he'd likely need surgery. So we went by ambulance to the big children's hospital in Fort Worth. He had surgery yesterday and they placed 3 pins in his arm & then a cast of course. Pain control has been a challenge and of course I just hate this for him.

Thank you for the thoughts, prayers & messages!!

When do I need to be expecting fertilized eggs, and how do I know which chicken laid what?

Once you have a rooster doing his thing, I would say within a few days. If you want to know who laid what egg, get a few colors of lipstick and put it on each chicken's vent.
