I have found my older goats to be very easy on my fences, but I follow the rule that all climbers or fence jumpers are sold right away so they don't teach others, and mine have several acres with plenty to eat. Your dairy breeds are easier, but they are not quite as much of a total brushhog. They totally cleaned up the blackberry briar, buck brush, and most weeds in a few months. The briars were decimated as they tried to come up in the spring as they love the weeds and new growth.
I used 47" 330' field fence over my existing barbed wire. Also don't put any structures the young ones can jump on near a fence
