There are about 2 dozen left, and the humidity keeps rising up to the low to mid 70s. Seems to hang out right around 73%. I don't want to drown my other babies...
Today is day 21 BTW and my temp is staying right at 99.5 to 99.6
you are supposed to wait as long as possible for fear of shrink wrapping the unhatched eggs, but if you feel that you do need to open it make sure all chicks are dry and fluffy, and do it quickly and throw a wet paper towel in to get the humidity up

your humidity is probably up because of the drying chicks, how many are in there?

trouble with backing down humidity too late in hatch is they get thick yellow goop as the albumen dries too fast too late in the process. I personally would candle often, but I am home all the time and then when I see draw down on the majority and the first internals I would lock them down.

Thanks so much for the info. I looked at the eggs again and 4 of the 7 are really wobbling, which makes me super nervous.

I went ahead and put them into lockdown. I did candle them one last time and the aircells in three eggs did get slightly smaller. No internal pipping though. No drawdown either but I feel kinda safe that it is the middle of day 18. If you look at the weights of my eggs, they have been loosing a consistent amount each day, just not enough overall. So here is one last photo of them and a video of #10 rocking. Fingers crossed that they make it!!! This is my first real hatch and I am SOOOOO nervous.

Hello Everyone! This is my first time incubating, and I have a large group in the incubator now. Several chicks hatched on day 20, and I am beginning to grow concern that they are moving the other eggs too much. Should I do something with them or leave them in until the rest have a chance to hatch? I had read that it was very important during lock down and hatching not to open the incubator but also not to move the eggs so the chicks can position properly... help!! Also I am noticing as they hatch my humidity keeps rising. Is it safe to remove some of the water from the troughs? Thank you all!

9 on my last count.
If you do open the bator to remove chicks get a warm wet rag/sponge/paper towel or something similar to get the humidity back up quickly. Your current temp and humidity sound fine.
