I have a Pomeranian and it isn't a duck. He's 10.

No, I'm the fat one in the picture.

I had someone tell me I can hatch them just like chicks but in my incubation book it sais you should check them with an enfrared thermometer and something about misting. Which is it lol and any tips for the most successful hatch.. thanks. :)

Hatch them like chicks. Don't worry about nisting.

LOL!!!

Dear anyone that thinks I neglect Duckling,
She sleeps more than you think. She only woke fifteen minutes ago. She hasn't even made a sound yet. I wouldn't be on here if she were up.
Sincerely,
Worries too much
nobody thinks that, just send sturgis in

They can get pretty ugly.
But you can also selectively breed the caruncle down to a more esthetic look.
I have been able to get my drakes down to just the red cheeks and no warts over the beak, while my females have almost no red, other than some eye shadow.
Unfortunately, I lost my best drake last fall to an eagle, and I am starting again with one of his sons.
Two hens currently sitting due date third week of June, so we will see if the genes carry over by the fall.
