I hit a tree in the woods on the Shadows run at Steamboat Springs, only to learn that evening someone was killed on the same run that day - smashed their head.
Nice.Just dropping in to say hi to everyone, hope everyone is doing great, and then to say goodnight. I don't have enough hours in the day any more, but I'm still hammering away at everything. Progress with the new coop slowed down this weekend, but I got in what time I could between showers and thunderstorms. I've devoted far too much time towards building a deck, when I needed to be working inside and putting up wire for the pen. Fortunately I should be able to get a couple more weeks or so out of the brooder before I have no choice but to move the chicks. They're 5 1/2 weeks old now, and the do get to go out into a temporary mini-pen for fresh grass and sunshine every day. Caught a nice pic of them with their body guard this afternoon...

I filled the barrels, turned on the valve and had a geyser. Water shot about 3' out of the ground. It was the low spot between buildings that I suppose had collected water and it burst over winter. I have to replace that section this morning and 5 units will have water as soon as I swap out the plugs for horizontal nipples. That'll take about 10 minutes.
The laws are so random. With so many cities so close together it is possible for one person to be allowed 4 chickens while the person across the street can't have any and a person at the end of the same street can have unlimited numbers and roosters.
That's what I feel like trying to keep up with this thread. I was 23 pages behind and 6 more were added since I got online.
