I have issues with getting enough loss in them as well, I think I need to try them separated, but I just got rid of most of those layers and kept the next gen since they started laying now.

Here's pics of everybody but the Brahma. Single Brahma hatched last and didn't get its pic taken. Think there's 4 CCL, 1 OE, 3 Brahama and all but 2 CBR/CCL crosses, left to hatch.

I've had one Welsummer hen. Her eggs were gorgeous. I lost her to heat in the summer of 2012. She's the only bird I've ever lost due to temperature - hot or cold.

I've never skied CA or anywhere on the west coast. I have heard that Kirkwood is fantastic. An army buddy of mine was from Sparks Nevada and skied Tahoe and Mammoth all the time.
