After reading reviews I think I am going to pick up a Genesis Hova Bator /w egg turner. That said, can anyone tell why Brinsea products are so expensive, specifically, the octagon 20 ADV?

I can understand different materials and import fees. But is it really worth two 1588s? When a lightbulb and a fan can do the trick, what justifies the $400+ price tag?

Inquiring minds want to know. (I hope this is the right thread for this, I didn't think it needed it's own.)

Maybe try starting a new thread in the "emergencies, injuries, diseases and cures" forum? Other than casportpony, I don't think many of us are experts at this topic- I certainly am not.

Reliability and reputation. They do have good bators, but I think they charge $400 just because they can! :p


They are, however, the very top of the line and hold temp amazingly. Very good for the hands-off hatcher.
