I will get the corid but the corid that tractor supply is for cattle not chickensLets not force our views on the younger viewers here on this thread ok? They know what is wrong with their chicks, have been told enough times and it is up to them to get the meds. If they do not want to listen to all of you, just let it go. Don't get yourselves into trouble arguing about it please?
And as for this "younger viewer", just crack open your allowance and buy the meds?? If you won't go earn the money or don't want to spend your own, you can't keep asking for advice. There IS no other answer. If you are losing chicks to cocci, Corid is the answer. Simple as that.
Carry on everyone and have a fabulous day!

something came in my run last night ad ate one of my chicks that was left out.ripped.the Beal clean off.and ate all the bones.all that was left was the beack, feathers a peace of liver and that was it.![]()
My dog needs to take lessons from a border collie! He doesn't like to listen!i know a couple of border collies like that, so maybe??
Mama and baby are doing great! This little one has feathered legs! I asked the girl who gave me the eggs and she said she has one hen that is solid black with feathered legs but was told she was a BSL like her others...I am feeling pretty safe to say that either that hen is crossed with something else or is an entirely different breed altogether. Maybe an actual breed since BSLs are not considered a breed but a hybrid. Anyway, if this chick has BSL in it and the gene for sexing is there it's a girl...but I think that the possibility of it having the gene after the crossbreeding is slim to none. Now just to keep mama sitting for a few more days..have one more baby to hatch!

How cool is that? I wonder where you get them .....
Good morning!Good morning everyone, btw.
Cattle corid works for chickens, too. That's what my vet told me to use for my chickens.I will get the corid but the corid that tractor supply is for cattle not chickens
Maybe they know you.my neighbors won't help me
If you lived near me, I'd give you mine. I haven't used it in years and it's getting close to its expiration date.No it anit that I can going to my neighbors and ask but why would I buy that stuff then if it don't work
I can do without them. That would scare the bejeesus out of me.I like roller coaster, but the one I just heard about is not a roller coaster in my opinion. It is just insane, and would scare me to death. 1670' high drops 1600' at 220mph followed by a series of loops that exert 10 g's on the rider.![]()
Not the same dosage. Medicated feed is a preventative dose, not a curative dose.we read a article and to get rid of it to use the medicated feed
Wow. I never would have figured that one out....
He meant swallowing, I think.
...
Is that a 2 headed chicken?
I tell people in my classes to teach their children to raise chickens. Because they'll never be able to afford drugs.Chickens are a expensive hobby. Cost $$ to feed full grown ones.
They can if they start out healthy, well hydrated, given dense shade and full ventilation. Still that is an iffy temperature. Adult chickens suffer at 100F and they're better at regulating their temperature than chicks. Can chicks survive 100 degree weather outside
There's a big construction company here that built a new office complex right next to the highway by the airport. It is supposed to use no energy. The design is energy efficient, has solar panels and a big windmill. FAA rules dictated that the windmill mast is only about 1/3 as high as it should be because it is so close to the airport.Planes are higher than that.
I should go with electric but it is complicated with 8 housing units and surrounded with brush.Fox/chicken pics are mine, electric fence pics I just got off the net googling for ideas. TSC has the ribbon wire in the bottom pic. My coops are not predator proof except for bird netting on top of the runs for hawks. I figure going electric is cheaper than predator proofing coops and runs, and probably more effective.
Looks like my place. It's weird to have breeds that hate human interaction come running every time they see you.
I think over 90 is too hot but there was someone on BYC in Australia about 6 months ago that had a hen successfully brood at over 100. She kept a fan blowing on the nest.So at what temperature is it too hot to have a hen brood? With these temps over 100, I think I am better off breaking her. Any opinions?
I think it is a really well trained border collie thing.LOL!
I have one hen that's like that. She always thinks I'm going to feed her if I walk towards the coop! She'll follow me, and if I stop, she stops right behind me. If I take a step, she dashes after me. It's funny!
Wow! Is that a Border Collie thing, or was she just trained really well, or what?
Thanks for the link!
Good morning!
That's a bummer. I feel your pain. It seems like, the more I predator proof, the more chickens I lose.![]()

He repeated his Q correctly, that's the only way I knew!.....
Wow. I never would have figured that one out.

Some option for heri was just telling one of my friends to get them! (actually my veterinarian) she is obsessed with dalmations, even has a leopard appaloosa horse to go with her spotted theme
those Chickens following u that is funnyMaybe they know you.

I was on a wild one with my kids about 10 years ago at SeaWorld in Orlando. It's one of those that has cameras all along the ride and by the time the ride is over they have pictures of you ready to buy.
I think we bought one. The kids had huge smiles on their faces and mine was sheer terror.
It reminded me of that priceless commercial. "Hearing your dad scream like your little sister - priceless."

I have chicks ranging from 1 to 2 weeks and I won't move them outside because we're having the second day of 100F.
