Sorry I didn't update. I was up all night. 2 out of the 5 chocks passed. The first one I should have assisted but I waited to long. The second one I think I assisted to soon. I felt so awful about that one. The third is still up in the air. She seems to be doing better but she had a vein cutting off circulation to her eye and neck. She was also sticky and I couldn't get her dry. I gave her a bath this morning and that's helped. The other one I assisted is amazing. I helped right on time and she pulled through great. Very healthy. She is doing better then the one that hatched itself. This was only my 3rd hatch. Hopefully with more experience I can do better next time.

So sorry. I think your doing a great job with the other chicks.

we lost many large pines here too, and the wooly adelgid sp? took most the old hemlocks so sad. now the dumb gypsy moths

oh sweets I pray you can rid it before that!

Unlikely; but one can always hope! When I say hard to clean; I mean REALLY hard to clean. Only way to clean it well is with a flamethrower.... :lau

If these weren't my pets I'd cull and start over..... Feels strangely like whack-a-mole some days. :/

:barnie COONS!!!!! I knew there were some around, but last night I was getting home late to do chores. I reached for the barn light and saw something run that I registered was not my cat, but before I fully processed that I saw the other three startled racoons staring at me from three feet away from around the cat food bowl sitting on the crate.
I wish I had a shotgun (just a rifle and hand guns) I hate these bloody live traps.

shot rounds in the hand gun might work

May all your weedwhackers run out of gas & string at the same time
oh you are the one who put the curse on us!

Hi everyone! Thought I would you a quick update on my chick situation seeing as you all have me so much help...both of my little darlings that weren't doing so well (the one with wry neck and the one with the shell attached to its umbilical cord) are up and running around as if nothing ever happened...they are in such good form it is almost a miracle! Who would've thought something as simple as vitamins would bring them back from being so sick? Can't thank everyone enough for your advice and direction...amazing! ^_^
@Gge23

lol Congrats silver!

oh no Dax!!! am I going to read they took some of your flock?  I am trying to readback and keep up too

yes, but we only start it with wood
Not yet. I am not worried about the main coop, but the newest one does not have a finished skirt.
On the main coop I put a three foot skirt where I didn't bury wire eighteen inches and then covered it with compaction rock. And I used half inch hardware cloth, and the coop is really double walled shed. My llama also hangs out by the coops with the goats. I thought I just had the skunk, but this looked like a mom and mostly grown babies which would account for noise I have heard several times from beind the hay. Live traps are finally working right and are set for tonight. A shotgun needs to be the next thing I purchase since my 270 would make a mess.
