I fight it here big time. I spray 2-4D to keep it down the hill to the campground. If you find it going up a tree, use snips to cut a 6 inch piece of the vines out a foot from the root. Then wearing long sleeves and rubber gloves. Pour straight 2-4D in a solo cup to the first line, get a kids paint brush and paint the exposed vine both directions repeatedly and any leaves you see. Kills it dead in days.

Also get yourself some tecnu, it washes off or neutralides the oil from poison ivy. Best thing I have found to treat it is Zanfel. I had an ER trip due to it on my entire face 8 yrs ago so yeah , I get it bad and go at it with a vengeance.

Thanks for the tip. I had an ER trip last year from it. Had it all over both arms and they swelled up like balloons.

I just leave the dead vine if it's in a spot no one will get near. If ppl could get close to it I pull it out after its dead and run it to the woods and put it on top an old old pile for the rabbits to hide in.
