I couldn't help including that photo. A BABY got a shrink wrapped chick out! She was holding it because she had just pulled it out!

And squeezing her happens all day.

I did open them and the blood ring one and the ones that I thought were infertile were. Do I higher the humidity or lower it if they seem large?

Question. Are week old eggs ok to incubate still?

I have eggs that arrived yesterday to incubate snd I'm wanting on more eggs this week.

I'm hatching Speckled Sussex, Blue Laced Red Wyandottes, Splash Ameraucanas, Delawares, BO, RIR , BA and BR.

Got to wondering how I'd feed it Chick Starter w/o the adults eating it. No good way to block off part of the run or coop. Easier to put her at the "kids table" 'til she's grown up a bit.



Introducing MC (yellow one in the back & camera shy), the first chick ever hatched here by a hen, and the first one ever named.
Special kind of chick for a special kind of lady.
If "she" turns out to be a "he", the name will be changed to MC Hammer (hence no Bubbles, Liz, or Sally...not easily convertible)
