I am not going to call it normal, but I have seen it a few times. Chicks were fine.

Did you intervene at all? I'm thinking of giving it a dab of blu-kote.

I think I have had three or four. One needed Blu-Kote. The rest didn't have an issue once fluffy.

22. Four being shared by the broodies, and the other 18 in the incubator. The broodies each had four, but when they finally resettled, they did so in a nest box again. I am hoping that I can get them to stop that once it is time to give chicks back. The one broke the barrier to get into the box, so... It will be fun in a few weeks.
