If I were to put new babies outside, I wonder if the ducklings would adopt them too? At 8 and 9 weeks, the ducks, chicks and even poults are still bonded as parents and children.

Morning everyone! Trying to catch up still. I learned a very valuable lesson this weekend. When you're clearing trees, don't be a lazy ... and leave them until the summer when the wild blackberries have TAKEN OVER. We pulled out about 40 cedar trees my husband cut down last winter and they were all in waist high blackberries.

Anything else I should pass along, besides to candle them like 600 times? My brothers hen not mine, I've never a broody before.

Thanks. I didn't know I had one until you mentioned it.
Check for new eggs every day or two. A circle around the middle of the egg with a Sharpie can be easily seen.
Now that you know, get a title.

Probably not as I doubt the older chicks would like them.
Would you believe that I have yet to see any baby be attacked just for being a baby? Jojo will keep the male ducklings in line, but that is not a concern.

You didn't
So by you saying something it magically appeared? Why didn't you say something a long time ago?

The broody hens can bring their babies out without a single problem.
