Hi i this is my first batch of eggs ever and i did a lot if reasesrch about shrink wrapping and malpositioned chicks and one of ny chick is starting to crack a hole at the other side of the air bubble so i took the cracked shell of and used my finger to make the membrane spread out a little bit more so air can seep in and i saw blood its not a lot comming out but it doesnt look good i dont know if thats what the regular inside of the membrane looks like or if i broke a vein but i an really worried.
Any suggestions?

Hi SALLY![]()
The eggs are off white - light tan.
The chicks, even developing ones are all black.
I had not really planned on getting any AC but was made an offer I could not refuse, and these are from (IMHO) the best AC breeder on BYC.
what lays the plum egg then? langshang? glad you got a good offer and took it!!
Quote: oh I thought Zoey was a cockerel?
from what i read they are both laying eggsoh I thought Zoey was a cockerel?
The chick hasnt made any progress in zipping the egg i keep wetting a paper towel and covering the membrane so the chick doesnt get shrink wrapped in the egg but its alive it keeps chirping every now and then@deyvuhd
how did it go?
if the chick pips the bottom it usually can get out, dont panic about those....
see these for future reference

Welcome back to Poultry!!Hi all! Haven't been on BYC in a long while since I sold my chickens a year ago. We bought 75 New Hampshire Reds earlier this year (now down to 70) so I can gladly say we're back in business! About a year and a half ago I hatched off approx. 250+ ducks, 3 geese, and 600+ chicks throughout the summer and fall months. I used styrofoam incubators at the time, but they were hard to sanitize and had limited space. I plan on building my own incubator from broken refrigerator and would gladly welcome any tips/tricks/advice etc.
