Any coon or cats in the trap? I know you don't want to shoot but a pellet gun with hollow point pellets does wonders close range. Yeah, been there done that. Not so good a choice for coon takes many shots, but it won't blow a hole in the coop either!

I read "back ache" (okay, the mention of) and was grateful that I didn't have a sore OOPS! There is goes. You jinxed me!
I do have to get more wash done. I would thank you for reminding me, but I am not grateful, so there!

Made quick work of it!

They are quite fast actually for a bird with a six foot wing span getting a picture before they flew away was a challenge. Had to climb into the second story of the barn and take pictures from inside the window. Even then they saw me and flew off. Several stay in tree I'm assuming to act as a lookout. One stayed too finish off the skin and nothing but bones left. Well at the last picture that's all that was left. The last one may have eaten that as well.

I pop coon all the time, with .22 longs at point blank range in the trap; haven't so much as nicked anything on the trap. Either I'm super lucky, or the bullet doesn't exit.

I've taken to giving them swim lessons. This way I don't have to worry about the neighbors or the vultures getting lead.

That is great news. Are they from a good line? As a bantam what are their weights? Egg layers?
