read the info then ask questions for things you dont understand or if any just happen to come up, i ask a tone of stupid questions lolI've read through most of these topics (I'm autistic and slightly OCD - so by the time I posted here, I've sort of already read through a *lot* of information, but wanted to make sure I understood what I read? I'm at the "talking through stage" of education.... lol that's how I learn... read, clarify, "action" - if that makes sense!)
So, to be clear, am I answering the questions in your above post, or re-reading all the information, and then asking questions if I have any later?
I DO!!!guess no one wants to chat and take my mind off ma worries today....![]()
if you do it 3x a day it *should be ok, but make sure like you said that the longest time point is staggered, so you already knew thatMakes sense, thanks. I just want to make sure it's okay for me to "talk" through the stuff i've learned; on this thread too - in order to organize it, so I can actually apply what I read. I don't want to bother anyone by asking questions, or clarifying information. I just need to "paint a picture" with all the information I've read, like putting puzzle pieces together, in order to apply the data I accumulated. (I see in pictures, so until the picture is fully formed, I'm sort of left scratching my head, I promise I'm not as dumb as I seem! I just have a unique learning style haha)
As to the turning - 3x works best for us, because breakfast/lunch/dinner is easy to make sure they get turned the right amount of times to be even over night - with 4 kids, I can't guarantee, i'll have the ability, especially if I run errands in any given day, and our potential trips out of town for the day that I can do more than 3 in a 24 hour period. (we've never been gone over night, and I can justify waking up in the middle of the night to compensate for missing an egg-turning during the daytime.)
I am still figuring out how you do eggs in an incubator if you're gone for a day. Do you have suggestions on that? Does it matter WHEN you turn them if it's at least 3-5x in a 24 hour period? or, if I did 5x on a day that I'm here, would managing 3x in a 24 hour period be acceptable? My 2 year old has doctors appointments and it's 6+ hours of driving, plus the length of the doctors apt. He's a previous 24-weeker, so we see a lot of specialists still.
I'm trying to figure out how to manage the turning thing at this point, more than the other stuff. We also have 40-80% humidity in our area, and getting the humidity lower until the end, will be a struggle/key thing too. (though someone recommended rice in a sock, so I may try that.)
What kind of worries?guess no one wants to chat and take my mind off ma worries today....![]()

Liz. That's a trap I've purchased a few years back. Before those I used the bucket. Just set another one at the coop.
