Good morning all.![]()
I see spiders are on the menu again.
I HAVE A CHICK!!!![]()
Ok...the chick has the bottom of the shell stuck to its butt, but legs are out, walking.
He's shuffled all the eggs around like a madman...and the humidity has gone up to 75°.
(According to my temp it has dropped to 36.2.(the machine is set for 37.4)
SHOULD I raise the machihes temp to 37.5?
SHOULD I raise the lid to let some humidity out?
Lol cool about the planeI wouldn't worry. Keep the lights on in the room so they can see. I can tell people how to create coccidiosis. Give chicks outdoor access so they pick up oocysts. Then keep them indoors on wet bedding with little food. They'll excrete eggs into the moist bedding. The coccidia will complete their life cycle and the chicks will then pick in the bedding picking up more oocysts. Voila! Coccidiosis. Speaking of excitement, a small single engine Cessna just landed safely on the highway near me. Not in the news yet because it just happened.
Congrats woohooo!!!!!Daughter didn't pick up eggs on the last day of our vacation because she thought we would be home in the morning. The thought of tossing 24 eggs really bothered me. So, what was I to do? I guess Jesus the BCM roo does know what he's doing. (Spanish pronunciation. Named by my youngest son because the chick was always walking on top of the water dish) 2 more are still in the incubator drying. There are ten in all. I tossed some clears and quitters along the way. BCM x: Silver Wyandotte, RSL, OE, and California Whites. A bunch of mutts, but that's fine with me.![]()
Just candled my eggs. The ones I put in on the 9th (1 now), 10th (2), and the 12th (2) are all doing great and moving a bunch (I think one on the 10th might be twins, don't know how to tell). The one i put in on the 15th has great veins and moves around. The 3 on the 17th are veining good and can see a heart beat. The 2 I put in on the 19th have started to get veins. And just added 2 today. Temp good, humidity good. Still losing patience though. Can't wait to have more babies! Hoping they all make it at this point. (Listening to my grandmother saying "Don't count your chickens before they hatch" Takes a whole new meaning when you are ACTUALLY hatching chickens).
how long did the thermo last? Kitties are so cute, if u were closer I'd take them lol
@DwayneNLiz Where are you? Why's it taking so long for you to say HI?
yayyyyy!!!!!!!!SO sorry!!! Not your fault, you dont have infinite time to watch them.Oh no! Glad some hatched. Hi Y'all, internet went out last night. #1 made a teeny bit of progress, #2 is the same. No new pips. Lots of chirping.
lol toilet train themcome on babies!!!!!! no that was the other two batches in the hot cooler, these were the ones remaining from broody, all others were stinkers bad at hatching but she done good with her babies! hmmmm can I ship them like chicks? usps I am already so done with cats, sorry I really am NOT a cat person just the smell of a fresh litter box is nasty to me![]()
