No he isn't Israeli, the snakes are rattlers so I assume this specific crazy is from your neighborhood! :lau

Boy we sure have lots of crazies here for sure.
I think Russia beats us though.

Some day I'll make it up that direction just so I can say I've been to all 50 states.
So you live in a place (New England) famous for clams and lobster and you don't like lobster? :th

I'd like to be able to say that too.
How could anyone not like lobster.
I love Maine lobster but Yucatan deep fried spiny lobster is extra yummy too.

yep lobsters are very important up here and wicked expensive but i dont get the fuss, theyre like the giant cockroaches of the ocean
just like i dont like blueberries, and they are just as important as lobsters around here

That is sacrilegious. Both are superfoods.

Yes I agree, to much cheap vodka!

WISH ME LUCK!!!! the circled one is the second egg my baby girl ever laid. The others are bought BBS Ameraucana eggs that I got from a breeder. Thank you guys for the advice about calibrating the thermometer. It tested THREE and this is the only one that was accurate in the house. That works out well because the digital thermometer I was going to used died moments after I decided not to use it LOL. I did the freezing point test and this one is spot on. The glass marbles are working very well as heat sinks. Every time I check the temp it is exactly the same, day or night.

Duckling got ... I think it was four eggs yesterday. I can get up to 14, but I don't think two are laying yet. Ten is the norm.
I check the outdoor oven periodically in case the block didn't work. Six today meant I had to check. Despite knowing that they aren't old, I had Duckling break them for the flock. All but one. It is duck egg white. I don't know if Cassandra would even try to get in there, and why the egg would be small.
The Muscovy will be laying anytime. Again, I don't know if she could get in there.
Anyway to know duck or chicken egg for sure?

We go to a National Park in MO every October to enjoy the colors and rent a cabin on the bluffs over Big Spring (America's largest spring - once thought to be the largest in the Western Hemisphere but a bigger one was found in Brazil)
Actually it is part of the Missouri complex of National Scenic Riverways.
The Repubs government shutdown broke our streak because the park was closed.
I called yesterday to reserve a cabin for this year. It is closed again. This time for renovations. They're running new electric, plumbing, reroofing, tuckpointing and rebuilding retaining walls. The restaurant will reopen in late 2017 and cabins won't be ready till 2018 or 2019. Whatever will we do for our October trip?

The cabins are awesome stone, timber and log construction with huge stone fireplaces and shake shingles built by the CCC during the WPA period in the 1930s. Over the years we've stayed in all the cabins.

True that they are bottom feeders - so there is that.
I pity him.
