Here's a problem (I'm worried about doves and their feelings!).
I'm going away for a few days. Doves share nest sitting. Male during the day, then switch. The male will be in the coop while I'm gone. He will have food and water. I'm worried about them missing each other. Do I attempt to get him out before I leave? Killing the eggs if I succeed (they have managed to get back in before I shut the door before)? Or ignore their feelings?
Ignore there feelings.

What about "their" feelings?

Those could probably be ignored as well.

Morning Heather. How are you?

I'm good, had a slight freak out moment today when my broody brought her chicks down out of the coop for the first time, and two of them somehow managed to wiggle through the wire and get in with the big girls! Scary! I am glad I was out there when it happened as the mama couldn't get in there to protect them. No harm done. I think I fixed the spot they squeezed through, I was in a rush to get my daughter to school and myself to work on time! How are you?

I would probably do whatever I could to make sure the dove's eggs survive.....

Hello Heather!

Hi! How are you?

Glad to hear that nobody was hurt. I'm doing alright. Ready for the long weekend already.

Gah! I had my first pip at noon today and no progress since. I do hear chirping though. This is my ayam cemani hatch and I am on pins and needles!

pip to zip can be 24 hours, zip is only 60-90 minutes

Ooh!!! My 2 have pipped around the same time! There was a little blood so I think out pipped into a blood vessel. It's not bleeding, but will that be ok?
should be fine so long as it stopped bleeding

I'd use Home Depot instead! ok, my recent purchase of Home Depot stock has no bearing on that statement.
none? lol

Yup. I had 9 chicken eggs under the other broody but 6 of those disappeared so she's only on 3. I hope whatever hatches between the broodies and the bator satisfies all 4 broody girls

did another broody steal the 6?

Hey guys....headed to the Tiger game....Yay!!!
Have fun!!!

Great, I hope it works out!

I like Menards, just isn't one very close too me. I actually go to local lumber yards, Keim Lumber or Holmes Lumber, which are both closer than any of the big box stores.
I try to get everything from my local lumber yards, but their hours done always work

I had to open the "empty" side of the coop for the doves. I actually added them to my phone app that lists my flock and everyone's profile.
i like that you are housing your doves
what is this app??

We are on day 8 or 9 of our incubation... 3 eggs appear pretty viable, 1-2 for sure are moving inside the egg. 2 are iffy, and 1, is the cracked egg that doesn't appear viable at all, but it doesn't smell and there's no blood ring, so we are leaving it alone for now.
