Found this riddle:

As I went through a field of wheat
I picked up something good to eat
It had neither flesh nor bone
But in twenty days it walked alone.

What is it? My 4 year old got it immediately.

But that's 21.... And why would there be an egg in a wheat field?? 

It was a bantam chicken egg!

It's an old riddle. I would think it's from a farm where the eggs would be hatched by a hen that would have a secret nest out in a field.
