Do you guys notice that newborn chicks that hatch with you, are different then day old chicks you get from other people?

Our other chicks seem scared to be handled, but this newborn chick seems to really like being held by people. When she saw the other chicken for the first time, she liked it, but when our silkie runs from hands in the brooder, our hatched chick just walks over and is like "sup" lol

I will never buy fully grown chickens from anyone again. I have bought silkies from someone but they were so skid dish at first but now they have calmed down a lot and they weren't fully grown so they had time to get ypu see to me I can't seem to get the one hen I bought to calm down so everytime I go in to do a head count before I lock them in she just starts cackling so loud as soon as I open the door so I get her off the roost and stick her outside in the run until I am done. And if she can't start laying eggs instead of those soft shelled eggs when she gets the same thing as everyone else I am posting her on Facebook forsale.

The bird that got it the worst last night from the dogs figured out how to use her wings to stand up today. She seems to be full of spunk and hopefully she will recover. The other three hurt Birds seem to be getting along just fine. I cleaned all of their wounds they all seem to be doing good

RECAP 9/12

It is definitely Monday, sometime even four cups aint enuf, camping is a plant hoarder, Walkmans are incredibly expensive, Honora and Chicken5555 have pips, Phil has an injured duck, If the glass is always half full then the glass is twice as big as it needs to be, Mike says we're all missing the point and that glasses can be refilled, MC disagrees and says the half empty part is to protect new white carpets, and Benny says the glass is full but it is air it is full of, everything is found on Amazon, (even 50 pound blue cats?) white carpets are about as smart of an idea as a screen door on a submarine, Benny doesn't eat dog, Mike ignores ice, MC wants to put dried crew members in her food, fried spam has a limited fan group, Liz loves salad, spam is either short for something posing as meat, salt preserved ham, or shoulder of pork and ham, camping eats turkey and cheese on croissants, cottage cheese and peaches is enjoyed by some crazies, Benny brakes broodies, Sir Ur has returned and loves hearing from his favourite science teacher, Liz's hubby is ignoring eggs, whites won't never catch up, Sally had way too much spam and potatoes in her life, mayber thats why she needs so much medical attention, owls are fowl, bigger is better, Bubbles can read minds, Heather is a showoff, popcorn is popular, complainers get a free smack, there is a difference between ditch ducks & gutter ducks, no hotdogs fer barn cats, coke n peanuts is a "thing," carp is best smoked, droppers get the choppers, jess gots duckkies, digging up mountains is hard, Bubbles is hard on shovels, Sally has a bumper crop of weeds, Bubbles loves zucchini muffins, peanuts and orange tru-aid isn't reccommended, whites needs spellig lessons, a 12" x 12" x 3" rock weighs 2,000 pounds, Bubbles' motto is "it hasn't killed me yet," whites backside is dragging his tracks shut, and not all brown smudges are chocolate.

How is your injured bird?

She is healing wonderfully She has all new skin growing in on the back of her head and she's working at scratching off the old scabs. She still really can't swallow much though. She tries to eat the regular food all the time but can't seem to get it down her throat. I still make her a scrambled egg shake every morning which she can mostly eat on her own. I usualy use an eye dropper to fill her crop the rest of the way. Hopefully, as she heals, her throat will open up more and show her to eat normally again.

I am not referring to the end result In my eyes there is things that are WORSE THEN DEATH! and that is to be dead while leaving! When you need other to help you Sh.. is one example! You can ask my FIL if he will answer you at all......
O no my community DON'T eat carp! We refer to it as a river rat!
The once that eat it are the Jews who came from east Europ, I am not from there, I prefer Salt water fresh fish, grouper, king fish, see brim, ect

Oh no!  Why do you think it's the incubator?

Well, I know the eggs were clean and I was careful to wash my hands every time I touched them so I don't think it was something from outside. We had the same problem in the spring too, with eggs from somewhere else.

Isn't that high humidity?

Is it? I thought it was maybe from temperature fluctuations cause our incubator tends to have those. Our humidity is pretty low where we live.
