I had another chick hatch overnight! The second one looks healthy but seems tired, and both are very quiet. They are being camera shy but I'll try and take pictures today. I am going to set up a brooder & have a good look at them, and put something on the first ones navel. Then I'll probably put them out with the broodies tomorrow.

Guess I was panicking unnecessarily when I ordered more chicks, haha! Oh well, you can never have too many chicks, right?

My daughter is up and not vomiting so that's an improvement. However, she has am awful barking cough. :/ debating a trip to Doctor, but hate to go if they are just going to tell me it's something viral. She is terrified of doctors.

:fl I was (am!) too. But knowing it was just going to be a tongue depressor and thermometer made it okay.

Does this actually turn out good? Has anyone tried it? I so miss my frappucinos but can't have the caffeine, I could try this with decaf. :D:D

I did, but it's been a year. I can't remember if I liked that recipe or another better.
The other was something like a can of sweet milk, a ton of cane sugar, vanilla, heavy cream, and the coffee is not brewed. It is ground coffee, soaked in cold water overnight.

lol, what does he wear in the winter?

Can anyone tell me what day this egg appears to be on? I received them from a breeder and she said they were started. My pullet went broody the day before the eggs arrived (what luck). I let her know that i had eggs in the incubator that would be on day 7 on Sunday. She said that the eggs she was delivering would hatch about the same time. To my very untrained eye and looking at many pictures I think her eggs are a lot farther along than mine. If they are will they hatch too soon for the broody? I have 6 eggs that were not started and those are in the bator, should I switch them for the ones the broody has? ( I hope that I am making sense.).
i see you got help but good luck!!

Recap = Sally had way too much spam and potatoes in her life, mayber thats why she needs so much medical attention!! Dang poor parents buying that CHEAP MEAT!!
that stuffs not cheap lol

Hey sweets, I bought two owl mugs today as a prize, is that close enough to fowl???? lol they are nice big mugs and cute thats why I got them
fun!

Yes she delivered them heated. She was not too far from me about an hour. She took them from her broody on Friday and put them in her incubator until she delivered them on Sunday. I put them under my broody but this one didn't fit so it is in my incubator with my other eggs (12 are on day 8, 6 are on day 1, and this one pictured below (and its 11 friends under the broody) i am not sure what day it is on.)
Is a week or just over a week long enough for a broody or will she not be happy about having babies so soon? Should I put the day 1 eggs under the hen and take away the started ones?

to answer your question yes i calibrated the Therm and Hygro. Temps are spot on and verified with 4 different therms.
Do you have another bator to use as a hatcher??

One egg is zipping! My 4 year old is singing to it that it's a good chick and she loves it. :)
YAYYYY

The top one was freshly made tiramisu... It was soooo good! The bottom one was molten chocolate cake, also really good!!! I like the tiramisu best but could only eat one bite since I can't have caffeine and its soaked with espresso lol
i love tiramisu!

Pups were so bad! Went on a romp and gone over an hour. I thought a coyote ate them for sure. They came back covered in pond slime.

Sorry mom.
he is a water dog lol, too cute to stay mad

Cocoa and Mira got some company tonight. Cocoa is thrilled with the new additions and immediately snuggled up with them.

awesome! cute little ducklings!

My daughter was standing under the chickens, and got pooped on, and couldn't figure out how they got poop on her arm. I swear she's smarter than that. I had to explain to her, that they were standing above her head, and ask her where it would fall when it comes out... and she answered "down" so I asked her how it got on her arm.
She just stood there, stared at me a moment, then took like 3 steps sideways and goes "ew"

Is it bad, when she got pooped on, I laughed?
not bad at all

Well, a chick hatched. Unfortunately he looks to have the same issues that we had with our hatch last spring. There was a bunch of yucky gunk that came out of the shell with him and his navel is bloody. His abdomen looks swollen too. I think I will try and take him out in a few hours and get him eating and drinking. I think that helped the chicks I had last Spring. They all survived, so I hope this one will also.

My husband assured me that he cleaned the incubator thoroughly with bleach, so not sure why we are still having this issue. I guess that explains the poor hatch though. :-(
Congrats on the chick!

The bird that got it the worst last night from the dogs figured out how to use her wings to stand up today. She seems to be full of spunk and hopefully she will recover. The other three hurt Birds seem to be getting along just fine. I cleaned all of their wounds they all seem to be doing good
Glad she seems to be doing better!

Morning all.

My daughter has been up half the night throwing up. :-( poor thing... Looks like we will be staying home from school and work today!

poor thing

Aww, I hope she feels better today and the two of you get some rest.

My son was up half the night....sneaking out of his room to play video games. Don't know what I'm going to do with this kid. He's driving us crazy!
lol, children, hide the controllers at night, in your nightstand

Too soon to say.
Gotta find gold earring hoops for my DD. Her piercings have been a nonstop struggle since December. Now one of her lobes has grown over the earring back. I'm not looking forward to that later. DD is 7 and a huge weenie about things that hurt or MIGHT hurt. She'll scream and cry if I just mention brushing her tangled hair.

Anyway, I'm picking up gold hoops and oragel, so hopefully we can get this resolved.

good luck!

Well y'all this is the only one left alive
Super cute!! sorry about the others!

I'm trying to find something like these.
i used to wear some child safe earrings when i was little, with a good tug they release, so that her earlobe doesnt get ripped off
like these

:D
sounds like a real frappucino

:gig My husband and BIL don't know how to make a bed! I don't mean hospital corners even! Just putting on a bottom sheet, and spreading the top sheet and blankets out.
I had to teach my husband to plunge a toilet too!

:th How is that possible?? That's easy!
