Keeping species together is never a good idea.Grandpa told me, when I was a kid, never to let a hog in with a cow ready to calve; the hog would root up inside, pull the calf, killing the cow in the process, and eating the calf. I love all manner of pork, but I'll never keep hogs; don't even want to be around them.
Paddler, how did your NPIP catching and testing go?
Considering it involves catching a bunch of wild birds, it went smooth as silk.
Everything clean. With few adult birds, I only had to catch all the birds in one building, a pair in another building and the 6 new birds in 3 carriers.
The tester said since one flock of birds almost 4 months of age he wanted to test those too. That may have been the most traumatic but the coop fairy and I pulled it off without a hitch.

Like I said I don't have kids so sometimes words just fly around here. I have to maintain cool at work & I think I have a case of cabin fever on top of it all. But my Serama "Stan" is still alive. He tore into some mealworms & I put them all to bed-which is where I am headed now. Good night everyone and thanks for sharing all the cute pics of you feathered famiies and all the helpful hints. It makes being "cooped up" a lot better
