Michigan's pretty liberal on gun carry but you do have to be trained and retrained every time you re-up
Very true I believe our country safer with an armed public. Granted we have a military but we have a lot of outside influential enemies. I think Al-Qaeda would have a hard time taking the countryside. There's a bunch of rednecks out there that can shoot pretty good
very wise words
I agree with that too. Especially the countryside part.
Maybe I was blessed being raised both in the country and the city.

The thing I don't agree with in the overall debate is that a good guy with a gun is the only way to defend against a bad guy with a gun.
A good guy with a gun has been present at some of the mass shootings. He was ducking for cover with everyone else instead of standing up and exchanging fire like at the OK Corral. When someone is shooting, you take cover, if you're wise. I've been there.

I wonder if good samaritan laws apply to returning fire if someone is shooting at you and you miss and hit a bystander?

I have told you that my freind, a breeder, have also Pedensenca, If it was possible I would send you some eggs, it certainly would enriche your gene pool.
That would be great. I just got an unrelated pair. 2 half related pullets and 2 roosters I had sold 3 years ago.
I'm pretty happy with that and I'm treating them like they're made of gold. (goose that laid the golden egg)
Getting some genes from abroad is a goal.
I've tried finding some in Canada and Central America to no avail.
I think Spain is my best bet.

Which variety does your breeder friend have? Crele, Wheaten, Partridge or Black?
Black is the only variety I raise (because they're dual purpose)

Ya got that right! If I lived in MO I wouldn't leave home unless I was carrying.

I don't carry. Probably because I'm just not scared. I have good neighbors but I also know how to duck and cover. Also, it would just be another hassle. Like remembering to bring my eyeglasses. cell phone and to wear pants.

Very good point. People exchanging gunfire in town here frequently hit bystanders.
How dicey would that be?
When law enforcement arrives on the scene, how do they determine which of the people shooting is the good guy?
Is it the guy in the hoodie or the guy in the business suit? It could be either.
I wear a hoodie and I think I'm a good guy.

Exactly, I wonder if the same people who are always on the cop's side in a shoot first ask questions later situation would feel the same way if "the good guy" were shot along with "the bad guy".

I don't really want to drag out this somewhat political argument but there is one other thing I would like to have explained to me. When legislators expand the places that concealed carry is allowed - like schools, places of worship, shopping malls, theaters, etc., why is the one place where it is disallowed is in that same legislature chamber? What are they afraid of that the rest of us shouldn't be?

I don't want it dragged out either. Many people have strong, valid thoughts about guns and gun control. I think if mandatory gun safety/usage training were a thing more people would be comfortable with concealed carry. I'm not comfortable with it because I know that people like me who don't know how to shoot a straight line could be in the streets and try to be a hero and shoot somebody they didn't mean too. I actually have a concealed carry permit but I never carry because I don't know how to use a gun well. There is data that supports both arguments and there is a big culture to change for gun violence to actually drop. but I think that if guns are going to be allowed everywhere, then it should be literally everywhere.

Need some help, friends... I seem to have worms in my flock. I've spent most of my Sunday following around poopers to see who has the overload- So far, just one OE 9 week old and two hens... I'm afraid it looks like tapeworm segments but want your expert opinions... What do I do now? I assume I need to worm the flock of 30... Is there an easier way than another to worm that many without having to catch each one? I realize the loose stool is a bad sign too! All are acting ok though...that I can tell. Also- what have I been doing wrong?!? I am meticulous about keeping the coop and run clean. They have about 800 square feet.
