Welp. I gave my chickens bananas, they won't eat them. LOL

I gave my adult flock lettuce, broccoli and a carrot, but my goats stole them. So my daughter split a popcicle up between the chickens. LOL Apparently, my adult flock will defend their bounty if it's popsicles.
Don't hold me to this, 'cause I'm not positive, but I believe I read on here that banana peels aren't good for chickens.

I wasn't suggesting that you hadn't peeled it. Just giving you a heads up should you ever throw kitchen scraps out for them, which I & several others here do on a regular basis. Sorry if you misunderstood.
Ahh! No, most table scraps that I wouldn't eat, I wouldn't feed my chickens... so peels, potatoe skins, etc. I throw in the trash.

chickens get quality left overs. I also might have googled which fruits were safe to give to them, so I wouldn't give them something dangerous to their health. LOL

Sally, Banti, and others, how does this AC look? It's about day 10 on the Ancona ducks. I've been running humidity super low per recommendations, so is this right? Looks big to me but I've never hatched ducks.

What is a show quality silkie

no like what do they need to have and look like to be show quality
It is in the ABA SOP. I don't have a copy but that is the definitive source to answer your question.

You're right but the chickens won't eat them anyway. At least I've never seen a chicken perusing the compost pile eating banana peels.

We have deer here, but it's the wild hogs/pigs that they want to eradicate. Things are vicious and reproduce like crazy.

Mmmmmmm.... Pork.

I want to go wild hog hunting down south sometime.

I'll join you...... We would have a blast.

That's funny banana is my ducks most favorite food ever.... I have to drive to town a couple times a week to buy the reduced bananas.....

My ducks won't eat the peels.

The top hen decided to visit my broody and her babies today. Broody didn't even care she was in there, and she pecked several in the head. Is this because my broody knows who the boss is?!?

The boss hen will peck my broodies' chicks to show them who's boss. She doesn't attack or harass them though, just a quick peck here & there to put them in their place. The broodies allow this, I think because they know the other hens won't really hurt them.

I'm not so lazy that I didn't take the 30 seconds to peel it for them. :p I won't eat a peel, so I wouldn't feed them one!

This is not a reason!
You also don't eat Mealworms (I hope :lau) and yet you give them to the chickens!
