Motion lights are fairly cheap, I like having them

The electric fences probably help deter people from coming into our yard, too. LOL

We use a solar powered one.

Just out of curiosity, if we wanted a solar powered motion light, do you have one you guys would recommend. I may put it on my christmas list.... since my husband will probably spank me if I keep asking for new gadets every few weeks for our chickens. He still has to make the fence for the new free-range area and build me milking stands for the goats. LOL

Our terrier sleeps outside, and our great pyr's will too once they are trained/fullsized.... So far, we haven't had anything go after any of our animals, except our barn cats trying to get to baby chicks when they aren't full sized. We have a lot of wildlife, that's easier to get too around here than our chickens, which helps. I honestly haven't ever seen a racoon, weasal, fox, or coyotee near us. I was expecting to have to have a lot of safety guards in place, when we first started having chickens, but so far... no sign of anything. I think the sheep dog that lives down the street, has wiped most of them out, too. Edit : There's not much I can do for this kennel, for now. It's temporary, It's supposed to be portable, so I don't want to put an expensive, metal roof on it until I've decided where I want it for good.

I'm saying it because I will feel bad if I don't. I've NEVER had a predator kill anything. Five of my best birds in one night massacred.

The kitty was quite the pain in the butt when I packed firedragon and chickendreams eggs!

I thought you were sending the kitten to me.

That one is 27 bucks for a 3 pack. I'd probably need about 12 or so. Put one on each side of the fence/shed so any movement will set them off?
