Keep them around 95ish in the brooder. Once you take them out of the incubator, they need to be between 90-95 for the first week.
I used to get stung once in a while as a kid, less as an adult, but I've never had to have them treated with anything more than baking soda paste.my daughter's fingers are swollen like 5x their normal size after getting her second sting by a bee... I kind of want to take her in to get an epi pen but my hubby is telling me im over reacting.
Do I need to lower the temp in my bator now that a couple of the chicks have hatched? I seem to remember reading somewhere that it's good to do that. Or is that for when they are all out and about?

Im not worried about today, i'm worried about what happens NEXT time. No, you don't have to. You can.
Not over reacting, but an Epi pen is for allergic reactions that make you stop breathing. The doctor may prescribe one JIC.
Thanks. I'll look up the fox lights.@kajira Foxlights predator control on amazon-Best money ever spent. My breeder was getting a coon a day in her live traps that took out half her show stock. I bought her one as a gift-neither of us has had a coon or predator since. I just use the battery one and move the stake about every 3rd week. It's a miracle deterrent and for $80 its a great deal, easy to use and covers a large area. as far as an epipen, its a long medical explanation but I would get her allergy tested just for it because swelling of a bite is a localized reaction and not always a true allergy.
