Her little bum is all good, I put iodine on her navel and made sure she won't get picked on. These bubs are gonna live happy lives

Just candled: down to 7 duck eggs and 5 chicken eggs. I burned my finger on the bator and dropped the egg. Luckily it only cracked the dud, I think.

You can put in a light cord as sufficient heat. Pensmaster says it works great in a brooder rather than a light unless you have a mamma heating pad.

ooo and our TSC gave me three pallets and said he'd have a bunch more next week to give me... so I can start collecting pallets from them in order to take the wood apart to make a turkey pen ;o

Needing some help, Last of my 5 chicks hatched today, biggest egg, pretty strong too, but hatched on 23rd day.

However

It hatched with this little hard bit in its bottom, I've put some oil around it to try and help it along, but I would love some advice, kinda urgent cuz it's like. It's the little thing's butt haha.

I had 10 start out, but got a few blood rings now. I think I need to lower the humidity again. All look ok I think and there are only a few bad saddles now. Also not sure how to tell if the cam is at the bottom? They all look empty down there. Is day 14 too early?

i need to figure this out too, i will be setting duck eggs soon

Mornin Beatuful, candle from the bottom of the egg and look to see if veining is down to bottom, thats all.

You know you can see that yellow yolk spot in the egg and keep tabs on it later on, mark on the outside of the egg too, and when you lock down, with white eggs you can sometimes see the malpositions yolks are higher, also it helps if you are an assister to watch that yolk start to go away on when to assist. but thats NOT the only marker. Good luck
