Camping is our hobby and profession. DH goes backpacking about a dozen times a year. He has tons or awesome gear, and there were hardly any bugs which is rare for us. Poor bubba just couldn't get settled, and I lost my patience with him. DH and I agreed: we'd give him 30 minutes to settle then call it. He was close, I think, but I was about to lose my mind. So at 9 pm we broke camp and drove home.

The right gear is key.

No. It was just being obnoxious.

Oh ****. I woke up to it DOWN pouring this morning. I'm going to have to check on the baby chicks and maybe bring them back inside?

Hubby checked on them last night and had to rescue them at like 1am. The thunderstorm freaked them out and they were running around inside their pen panicking... he moved them back inside their shelter, to show them where to go... but he said "these are the dumbest group of chickens I've ever seen."

I had to sit out with my first flock during storms. It was great! I had a chair, footrest, radio, magazines, fridge and even a rug! The main coop is half of the building. I would leave the door open between the sections in case they wanted to snuggle.

@ChickenCanoe

Do you put rootX directly in the septic tank? I use ridX every month in the tank, but I think it's more for good bacteria.

I'm in the same boat. If mine fails now I have to hook up to the city 500 feet away. But before that I have to get permission to go through my neighbors and their associations green belt area. That would take forever and could not afford that either.

I'm afraid. We just moved to city water here about ten years ago. The township is putting in sewage lines, and it was too expensive for people in town! I couldn't afford it either! I pray they don't force us to get it. I must say that I do like city sewage for the convenience. However, I don't like it for the cost! The bills went from $20/mo to $90!

First time for this batch 7 eggs from 7 pullets

Morning y'all. :frow We took the kids camping yesterday. It was pretty fun and went well until tent time. It was just too hot, so we bailed.

Glad you had some fun anyway! I have learned the joy of a hammock on a camping trip.

No, the rootX has to go through the pipe to the septic tank. You can put it in the earliest cleanout or in a toilet.
I've done it both ways. You have to mix the 2 chemicals (mixing funnel) just before pouring in. When it gets wet it makes a gel that coats the pipe and any roots. It kills the roots but not the tree. If you put it in a toilet, you have to have a 5 gallon bucket of water ready so you can flush it all down. Pour it in while flushing the toilet and immediately put the 5 gallons in. If you put it in a cleanout, you have to run sinks and showers to flush it through the pipe.

ridX is for bacteria and won't work for roots. You can't use them at the same time either. If you do the rootX, you need to wait weeks or months before using the ridX and vice versa.
When the guy rooted out the pipe it was the dead of winter with a snow cover. It was nasty.

I think it would al be pricey but I can't imagine that going under 2 roads wouldn't be very expensive.

We'll get there in the next few days.

We rarely have that disparity unless we switch from a southerly to a northerly wind or vice versa.
This time of year is the only time it gets hot during the day and comfortable at night. In summer, if it's hot during the day, it's hot all night too - and humid.

My first guess would be yes but I'd have to do more research on that.

I thought we were done with 90+ about 10 days ago but it's been in the 90s all week.

1 for 1 is a great accomplishment. Knowing all are productive.

Same here. Turning the air off tonight.

When young, we camped in ALL weather. Now I can't do summer. Fall, winter, spring are all good. I'm an outdoors person but not a fan of bugs. I can put more clothes on if it is cold and I hate to sweat.
sounds about right. Adding layers is easy, taking htem away when it's hot isn't! LOL

I beta tested windows 10, and I use it now on all my home PC's, but I was not happy with it during the beta.

It's much better now. I find it's compatible with most stuff, and works well.

So once in the tank it flows to the leach line coating the pipes and roots?

Man, getting my kids ready for church is quite the ordeal. Especially when we're having a potluck after and I have to actually bring something to contribute. LOL

I haven't had a sewer bill in a long time but I think it was about $50 every 3 months.
They tried to hit me with that here and I'm not on a sewer line. They said they were treating my runoff. After a couple years of battles, they agreed I owed nothing.

My philosophy is that you can only take off so many clothes - and you're still hot.

If you have enough of the right clothes, you can survive the north pole.

MC: YAS. Hammocks are a huge game changer. We're an eno dealer through the camp and DH has all the cold-weather gear for his. Mine is faded because I left it on a porch one whole summer. Even five minutes was an awesome break from working.

The kids were both down to their undies in the tent. I had all my clothes on, but I know how to lay still and cool down. Bubba was asking me about insects and he was making their noises back to them, every time he saw a flashlight or a truck drove in... I just reached my breaking point. So we left while they'll still have positive thoughts on it, not that time mom went crazy and slept in the dirt or something like that.

Yes very expensive. My tank was built in the 70's and trees grasses etc have grown into the leach field. Still works but if it fails it's either dig to the city or put in new one. Removing old as hazardous waste and installing new. Since laws have changed on tanks here cost are outrageous.
