awwwww standing so tall and look at those feathers comin in!! I mean COMING in. or is it GROWING IN, or is it just LOOK at that feathering!

I guess I shouldn't be allowed either. I should be in school.

are you prepa

thanks

yes but she is fairly new to incubating, I was concerned she didnt know that she could see better from the top with a flashlight.

I could see the air sacs fine, especially with the new wand for candling you guys recommended. I guess that's why I didn't think twice about the direction of the egg.

The early stages don't matter as much if you candle from the bottom because nothing is in the way. Towards the end of incubation the chick is in the way so the light will better disperse down through the air cell.

I'll be honest, when I check them that late in the game, I usually roll them sideways to check the chick and the air cell, instead of doing it from the bottom.

Is sideways wrong then at that stage?

I use a .22 rifle; point blank if a 'possum or 'coon, 40' or more if a skunk. Somehow, when shooting from any distance greater than point blank, I've never even nicked a wire on my Hav-A-Heart. A crossbow bolt with field point will certainly fit between the wires; whether you can keep from hitting a wire or getting a clean kill shot with it depends on how accurate/lucky you are. Not at all sure about a broadhead making it past the wire without nicking the wire & ruining a good broadhead.
Is a field point the same as a target point? Or same type (narrow)?
I'm about to start shopping.
p.s. 22 rifle might be too loud, I think!
