Aweee! Good someone else who's not afraid to protect theirs by any and all means necessary! Mine is my 22. Rifle works best but pistol does well. 12 gauge is another go to.

  It's been locked in a safe 15yrs,  but I remember it not being vewwy qwiet.

Yuppers! I love my 22. Great predator gun. If need be. I wish they'd just forget about my farm but the odds of that happening......lol hey I hear ya!! You should hear my 270 deer rifle!!!

@kwhites634 I am losing whats left of my mind.... The coop run is a poopy muddy nasty mess!!! I need my hand to do pea gravel and sand. The hubby would do it but he is on 7 days right now with crazy afternoon hours and still has to build my serama breeding pens and clear an area for the new coop that is being built on Halloween

Do you or anybody else have any ideas how to dry up a muddy run other than sand and pea gravel. I wish you could find people to do side jobs these days..... I would totally hire somebody to haul sand and gravel back there!!!! But nobody wants the dirty work

The cat finally caught that lizard he was stalking the other day. Ate half of it. We put him outside in preparation for the puke, and he killed a tiny snake. The dogs just dragged in a bone they dug up from the yard. It's been a gross day. :/

are you sure that counts fer the dishes too?    I was always told I suck at dishes, thats why I had to mow the grass, fill wood bin and feed the animals,  and my sister had to wash dishes....   I dont like you anymore Peter!

Our hen,Brownie has 7 chicks!! Another is hatching now and the 9th I'm not sure is alive. How long should I give this egg before I .......sadly rid of it? Will share pics later. Have errands to run. Waaah boring!!!

I haven't hatched under a broody before, but if you have an incubator, if she abandons the nest, you could candle it and take it inside to see or do a float test to confirm life. If it's still alive, you could give it a few more days in the incubator to try to save it.

And I've never hatched with an incubator!! I don't have one but so would love to try that sometime. She now has 8 chicks. That egg shows no pips and no peeps. Never saw the obvious life in it that I saw in the other 8. I thought I'd give it until tomorrow. She's gonna be taking the chickidoos out to range soon...I figured I'd decide then. Thanks so much for your great advice.
