Aaannnnddddd.... To anyone that bothers to read this, I have my 14 eggs for the New Years HAL numbered, did an eggtopsy on #2, with high suspicion he had died, and sure enough there was a blood ring and the yolk was mixed in with the whites. He died really early, and there was the start of a fetus, but that was it.

:he :hugs
Bummer on that one. Good luck with the others!

Beautiful Dogs! I wish I had a Doberman... But I have 7 dogs already, and I used to have 10, so no more for a while

Thanks, Roxy! Yeah... they're okay, but I'm thinking about getting a teacup poodle next time. These are a tad too big when they want to snuggle on the couch or recliner!

Okay... I bothered. It can be difficult to determine why they die at most any stage of development, but it happens quite often. Fortunately, if conditions are good enough, the hatches far outweigh the losses.

I didn't think to ask before, but does your egg turner tray push hard against the ends of the tray? I read a review where the owner was having that issue, and he took a dremel tool and reamed out the turner arm slot. I noticed mine doing the same thing, but instead of reaming the slot, I bent the turner arm (in towards center axis) so it didn't have as much travel. It solved my tray issue, and also made my temp more stable. The tray pressing against the end(s) was causing the wall to bow out, and opening the gap where the lid sits on them. It's held within .6F for the last week, so fixing that issue definitely helped!

Yeah, it does. Every time it turns the lid pops up... Never even thought about bending the arm. Looking at it now... It pushes really hard! I just lifted the lid off and had trouble getting it back on, I think I will adjust it. It makes sense now that I think about it. Every time it turns I hear the lid pop off of the tray... Hmmm :/ Having more issues than I thought I would with an incubator. Thanks for the info. :hugs

I haven't killed myself yet!

stop talkin nonsense, hows the ducklin? what she gonna help with today?

Yesterday she helped me corral the ducks 1 million times. She's not bad at it! I fixed the fence after each time, but couldn't figure out how they were escaping. Meanwhile, she did her thing. It was pretty cute.

She left late last night. I was with her again today to run errands, but it was short.
And it's true! Not killing myself is an accomplishment! I just moved 300# of feed with a little plastic thing. It about plowed me over on the hill.
Moved six beds around, and one mattress bowed as I passed the steps and almost threw me down the steps with it!

Heh. I have two chocolate labs, a boy, 9, and a girl, 11. A black border collie boy from the shelter who was beaten and abused, got him when he was around 1, he's 16 now. A red border collie girl, 2 now, a large (fat) dachshund who I think is 13 now. And two Morkies, my favorite, who are sisters and are 6 now, cross between Maltese and Yorkies. The weird one that I just happen to have a pic of-
700

Why she sat like that on a backpack I will never know.

Be careful! You don't want to get plowed by anything! I once had a mattress fall on me, knock me out, fat dog laid down on it and when I woke up I couldn't get out. Had to wait another hour for DH to get home.... Only knocked out for 30 minutes, the dog is one of the old ones that cant hear, and just grunts and licks you....

I'm alone. No friends or family to help. Duckling had to go upstairs! Her crib was in the room right outside the bathroom. If I went in while she was half awake, she'd scream. She normally goes right to sleep for me until I dared to put her down, then go take a shower. She cried the whole time. As soon as I left her room, she stopped crying, and went to sleep. Forget about watching television. If a loud scene came on, she'd hear it and wake.
She's sleeping better this past week. Being upstairs agrees with her!
