I redneck rigged my bator with ball canning rings to keep the large ends slightly elevated because of unattached air cells.

Redneck rigging involves duct tape and baling twine, but other than that...     ... two thumbs up!!!

Baling twine wears through too fast; try rubber cargo straps

14 hatched, including egg yolk chick who seems pretty normal so far, just not a big belly since he didn't absorb the yolk.

No more external pips that I can tell. I doubt I'll have any more pip, but I'm leaving them in anyway till Tuesday probably. Everyone else seems norMal and healthy so far.

If there aren't any extetnal pips you can pick them up and candle and tap to check for life.

Well heck yeah it counts!!! What else were you going to use??? Hinges are over-rated, and best left to them fancy-shmancy people who always go around bragging about their "swanky lil hinges". Ain't no need to put on airs over a pair of stupid hinges, I always say. Sorry, you kind of got me riled up 'thout even meanin' to. It weren't about you... just them "hinge people".

That depends on how heavy the gate is, and how much baling twine you use! Half a roll will hold a standard gate purt near 2 years!

Never had half a roll to try it with; used it up holding other things together too quick
