Thanks everyone. i am well, visiting at my mother's house baking cookies. Everything is on a bit of a break currently so i thought id pop back online. I just learned how to ferment foods this summer, so i was pretty excited about the kraut. My chickens LOVE sauerkraut. They turn into feathered gladiators scrabbling over it.

Im making belts, lotion, candles, reins, saddle pads. it is actually really fune

love making gifts. This is the first year I bought all but two. Too many hours of work this year. We have averaged 62+ a week every week.
Any pictures? I would love to see a saddle pad. I make custom fly bonnets for horses.

What an awesome visual....I can just see the squabbles. For me the most exciting things my laying hens get are tomatoes, but for my silkies, it's popcorn - go figure.

Here is what I followed to ferment my peppers this year. So far, it's turned out pretty good.

I'm not finished yet. Have been having difficulties finding time to finish. I have it all layed out and measured, just have to cut and sew. when i finish i will post a pic though

Never did fly "bonnets" per se; I made the ones that thread over the brow band with soft leather strips that hang down & sway

What a cool link! Thanks for sharing. Ive been meaning to try fermenting peppers. Have you ever fermented pickles?
Popcorn is one of my favorite snacks too!
