Have not managed to get completely caught up, responding to things before I lose the train of thought. (on dial-up, so takes awhile for things to load)

your running your bator at the right temps? still air or fan model? Which breed of ducks? why cant you calibrate it?
what dewormer? I will have to find the notes in the diary thread about that when we had a discussion and pulled some info on there.

I think the temp was slightly low. It is a still air, considering getting the fan kit for it. The temps measured at the tops of the eggs ranged from 100-102 F, depending on whether the bulb of the thermometer was close to the heater or not. Rotated egg positions within the incubator almost everyday. Used your idea of a temp probe in the fold of a ziploc bag with water in it, from Hatching 101. Going to replace that probe with another, as it was not very precise (no decimals). Tried to keep it reading 99 though, and the probe was slightly lower in the incubator than the eggs.

Breeds that went in were Mallard and White Layer hybrid, then a week later added chicken eggs from my flock most of which ended up being infertile. Of the 4 that I know developed I had 3 that were an Aruacana/Easter Egger pullet with Blue Marans cockerel and the other was most likely a BPR pullet with Barred Holland Cockerel.

I can't see a way to adjust the hygrometer once I test it, doesn't mean there isn't one. I know to look for that the next time around. Otherwise keep track of how far it is off.

Have not decided on a dewormer yet, still doing research on that one. Vet suggested the drug name for Wazine, however that only takes care of roundworms. Trying to find something that will cover thread worms also.

googled and browsed candling info. I looked at some of the Standard Chicken eggs is it possible that silkie eggs are just hard to candle?

hate that. Temp 99 should be higher,

anyone remember what ivermectin covers, and what about safeguard.aka .Fenbendazole...
I always look for dawg53 advice to give to others on worming..... here is a start post #2
you will have to followup and research the product for embryo effects unless I can find them before you do.
