I opened a spot the size of a nickel or so and stopped when I saw a little blood. He is peeping and wiggling but I don't think ready just yet. His wing elbow is over his eye??? Does that sound right?

Just cleared the house of kids and grandkids, got the food packed away( what little didn't go home in doggie bags), and now off to the neighbors for some drinks and carousing! Hope everyone else had a good Christmas Day as well. Chat later....if I am sober enough to type that is!![]()

I have a chick that pipped late last night externally but now 24 hour later has made no hatching progress. The humidity is way up and down because he is hatching 3 days early.
I only have this one chick so I don't want to lose him. I'm not sure if I should assist in opening the hop of his she'll a bit more or not. He peeps and moves around alot but nothing happens. I'm afraid he got dried out or will become so because of our humidity varying
do you know why you couldnt keep humidity up so you can get it worked out next hatch?Yes.
yes. But the problem has been it keeps going down faster than I can controll it. He sat all night in 30% humidity (only one egg, so just him in therr) it's about 60 now after fresh water 10 minutes ago
I think! I had drinks too, and they tired me out. now coffee and perhaps a drink or two ONLY laterNap help?
whatever you want sour!Anybody have cookies or brownies or chips or even a sandwich??????
Hi CH, I see you never answered my questions in that post before I took my nap. Thanks!L.A.

as long as his beak is clear, he is fine until he absorbs, keep the bator closed keep humidity up, everytime you open the bator that moisture wicks off the egg shell.I opened a spot the size of a nickel or so and stopped when I saw a little blood. He is peeping and wiggling but I don't think ready just yet. His wing elbow is over his eye??? Does that sound right?
Good! Run over there & tie the boy to a chair in another part of the house from his incubator, before he has a stroke.I'm only about 40 miles away.....
Oh sour......![]()
Hey, I looked at your title.... Can you make my hens go broody???I want one of my EE's or BSL to go broody... or one of my game hens... I had a BSL go broody last year so
they will again. Can you give me a magic dance?![]()

Broodies are easier to manage than an incubator..... last time I almost forgot the hatch date I was so not involved, and you don't have to worry about temp fluctations or humidity problems!
