I opened a spot the size of a nickel or so and stopped when I saw a little blood. He is peeping and wiggling but I don't think ready just yet. His wing elbow is over his eye??? Does that sound right?

Merry Christmas everybody. Now I've got a bunch of thermometers and hyrgometers for my bator.

I have a chick that pipped late last night externally but now 24 hour later has made no hatching progress. The humidity is way up and down because he is hatching 3 days early.

I only have this one chick so I don't want to lose him. I'm not sure if I should assist in opening the hop of his she'll a bit more or not. He peeps and moves around alot but nothing happens. I'm afraid he got dried out or will become so because of our humidity varying

I have my assist article link in my signature, hang on...

Yes.
yes. But the problem has been it keeps going down faster than I can controll it. He sat all night in 30% humidity (only one egg, so just him in therr) it's about 60 now after fresh water 10 minutes ago
do you know why you couldnt keep humidity up so you can get it worked out next hatch?

Nap help?
I think! I had drinks too, and they tired me out. now coffee and perhaps a drink or two ONLY later

Anybody have cookies or brownies or chips or even a sandwich??????
whatever you want sour!

Hi CH, I see you never answered my questions in that post before I took my nap. Thanks!

as long as his beak is clear, he is fine until he absorbs, keep the bator closed keep humidity up, everytime you open the bator that moisture wicks off the egg shell.

Merry Christmas to me! Another present for me! From my RSL, her first egg. Pretty small for now, but, will get larger soon enough. Saw Bubba breeding her yesterday, she squat for him, so thought, she should be laying soon. Yep!

Hey, I looked at your title.... Can you make my hens go broody???
wink.png
I want one of my EE's or BSL to go broody... or one of my game hens... I had a BSL go broody last year so
fl.gif
they will again. Can you give me a magic dance?
lau.gif

Broodies are easier to manage than an incubator..... last time I almost forgot the hatch date I was so not involved, and you don't have to worry about temp fluctations or humidity problems!
