INCUBATING w/FRIENDS! w/Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs No problem!

Oh, I forgot to post that the most recent chick was goopy. When he hatched his yolk wasn't fully absorbed. So I set him in a bowl with a paper towel and let him absorb it in the incubator. This morning he was all good and I could put him in with the other chicks. And guess what? I learned what to do through this thread! So thank you for having resources avalible!

I had a pipper that went 36 hours before hatching. He made a small pip and never made a sound, then 12 hours later made a slightly bigger pip and was completely silent and still, then 12 hours later made a dime-ish size hole and stuck his beak out and proceeded to "talk" out the hole. He peeped, wiggled, opened and closed his beak, tapped the edges of his shell, slept, rested, etc. for another 12+ hours. Then he finally started zipping and took 45 minutes to finish zipping before he finally finished hatching. I told him "OMG took you long enough!!!"


Anyway, story aside, if your humidity is up, don't worry about your pippers. Some take a REALLY LONG TIME! (like mine-haha!) If you're really worried about humidity put some steaming hot water in container and stick it in. Jumps the humidity crazy fast! Then WALK AWAY!

I am !! I was answering a duck message on FB and had to go into the ducklin care article and pull somethng an I ran into that pic lol going to go do it now!

I am planning on hatching call ducks and Muscovy's in the spring! the duck breed focus made me fall in love with the Muscovy's

Hiya
Like to froze my uh-huh off in the woods this morning. Wasn't bad 'til the wind got up, then everything went south. Was with my hunting partner on a huge farm we have access to; he saw a small doe- I saw nothing but tree rats. Good to be home where it's warm.

Been home just shy of two hours;just now got caught up from midnight.

Glad to see y'all made it home unscathed from the partying last night; lots of folks weren't as fortunate.
