I was told by mother of two boys at the bus stop to have them keep their feet dry.

Standing in a driveway with snow, BOYS? yeah right mother!

Thanks let us pray for female legbar! seems the hens are wanting baby boys not girls!! ughhhhh

I have so many on the list for pullets and I cant get enough!

I wish we had enough for the kiddos to mess with, not even enough for a sled the sun is clearing their tiny hill out back.

No I havent I always requested a heat pack in the outer box.  I hope yours will be fine!! look for really fine lines when you candle, sometimes you cant tell they froze and cracked until you candle!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you for legbar pullets!! Gotta have a talk with those hens lol.

We only have a couple of inches but we have lots of drifts so they collect snow from all over the place and from where they shovel the decks and driveway

It ain't much but they stay entertained for awhile lol.

I was reading something kind of scary about those hot hands heat packs getting super hot. They can get up to 163 degrees!! I had that egg shipment that were all duds and they were sent with a heat pack. I wondered if the eggs got too hot and it cooked them so to speak. So I looked up how hot they actually get- Here's the link:

So I've seen your links where the packs were on the outer edges and the eggs were inside a separate box. I think that looks good and safe but my pack was laying right on top of my eggs. Seeing how hot those packs get makes me wonder if we should be using them with eggs. But I know people use them all the time. ???

Howdy, Fire
How does one go about losing a shoe in frigid temps and not notice it immediately?
That Kansas wind I hear about giving you fits?

No doubt. My son has made me scratch my head many a time. It's been very nice here the last 2 days and will be again today it looks like. Not much wind to speak of. Highs around 45 and lows 22. We'll see how long it lasts.

Not bad weather at all, for the middle of winter.

You folks on the prairie ?

Quote: I know, not sure what they are thinking! they have all different sizes, there is a huge difference if its 15 degrees or below and you put them in the outer box that has a air pocket. and not in direct contact with inner box
