I went to the gas station today to fill up the tank and it was amazing the number of assorted people that were going inside just to buy lottery tickets. There were those dressed to the nines that were all giggles and those you could tell who sacrificed their lunch money. I bet it has been insane for the retailers. It'd be fun to operate the machine for part of the day just to observe people.
I used to live in Las Vegas and, yes, the lines at Primm (CA border) were that long -- out the door and snaking around the building and down the street -- of folks. If you were smart, you'd drive along the freeway 20 miles more to Cima where there were no lines and save yourself about 2 hours worth of time. Or, if brilliant, you went the other direction over Hoover Dam into AZ and hit one of the three retailers in White Hills.... The Texaco station never had a line ever!
